Torymus apiomyiae Boucek & Mihajlovic, 1986.
Morphology.- Head dorsally 1.8-1.9 times broader than long, 1.1 times broader than mesosoma; temple 0.5 apparent length of eye, curved; POL 1.7-1.8 OOL, OOL 1.9 OD; vertex with engraved reticulation, without obvious punctures. Frontally seen the head is 1.2-1.3 times broader than high; distance between eyes 1.2 their lengths; mouth 2.2 times malar space, malar space 0.4-0.5 length of eye; genae slightly curved; lower face 0.5 upper face, both with regular reticulation, without punctures, set with long setae; eye 1.4-1.5 times longer than broad, bare.
Antenna: scape 3.3 times longer than broad, 0.7 length of upper face and 0.7 length of eye, not reaching middle ocellus; pedicellus+flagellum at most very slightly longer than breadth of head; pedicellus 1.5 times longer than broad; anellus about twice as broad as long; F1 0.7-0.8 times longer than broad, seen from aside distinctly smaller than pedicellus and F2; F2 is 1.1 times longer than broad, F7 0.8 times longer than broad and xx times broader than pedicellus, clava 1.7-2.0 times longer than broad; sensilla uniseriate, nearly as long as segment.
Mesosoma 1.5 times longer than broad; mesonotum 0.7 times longer than broad, rugulose in front, more or less transversely reticulate in hinder part, without punctures, pilose, setae black; scutellum 1.2-1.3 times longer than broad, sculpture as mesonotum, with few punctures, without frenum, flange narrow without trabeculae; dorsellum short, with hardly visible median carina; propodeum with fine alutaceous sculpture, without median carina, its length 0.3 length of scutellum.
Hind leg with coxa 1.8-2.1 times longer than broad, hairy on dorsal surface; femur 3.3-3.8 times longer than broad; tibia 7.2 times times longer than broad; shorter spur 0.7 length of longer one, which is 0.4 length of metatarsus and slightly longer than tibial breadth. Mesepimeron 1.3-1.5 times higher than broad and as long as mid coxa. Wing 2.5 times longer than broad; costal cell:M:PM:ST = 100:75:15:10; stigma petiolate; basal cell hairy ; basal vein with a complete row of hairs; speculum extremely small.
Metasoma 1.9 times longer than broad; basal sternite only very slightly longer than hind coxa; hypopygium extending about two third length of metasoma, bare. Ovipositor index 1.9-2.0. Body length 1.5-2.3 mm.
Colour.- Dark greenish bronze, including antennae and legs, in places nearly black. Wings hyaline, venation dark brown, proximal part of submarginal vein and most of M paler.
Type material.- Holotype: , (BMNH). Paratypes: ±, (BMNH, and Forestry Faculty in Belgrade.
Biology.- Parasitoid of Apiomyia bergenstammi (Wachtl) (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae) on Pirus.
Distribution.- Yugoslavia.
